Canaan Smith's New Song Name-Checks Miranda Lambert

CANAAN SMITH has a new song coming out tomorrow called "Like You That Way". And people are already talking about it because there's a line in the chorus that almost sounds disrespectful to MIRANDA LAMBERT.

Here it is: "Ain't nothin' 'bout you baby I wanna change. Girl you're Miranda Lambert crazy and I like you that way. You keep the sunshine in your pocket and the rain on a chain. Yeah, you're a little complicated but I like you that way."

But he meant no disrespect by it. It's kind of a reference to her song and album "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend", but he says it's really a tribute to her kickass attitude about life.

Quote, "It's a compliment the way we use her name in that song. I think it's sexy when women kind of do what they want and have an attitude. My wife's a lot like that."

Canaan knew the line might raise some eyebrows so he had his people reach out to Miranda's people, and she's totally cool with it. "Like You That Way" will be on his next album, which is supposed to come out in the fall.
