Who knows, matbe it was self-defense but Call me OLD FASHIONED but I like to think people that pull out a gun and shoot in the air would stay in jail longer than a couple of hours!!!!  Heres more on the story I talked about on todays show from the T-news....

TUSCALOOSA | A Northport teen was arrested on misdemeanor charges early this morning after he allegedly opened fire with a handgun on the Strip.

Brandon Deundrey Taylor, 19, was charged with carrying a pistol without a license following the 1:36 a.m. shooting.

Online jail records indicate that he has since been released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail after posting $500 bail.

No injuries were reported to police, officials said.

Sgt. Brent Blankley, spokesman for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said Taylor was taken into custody after officers with the Tuscaloosa and University of Alabama police departments were called to The Bear Trap Rooftop Restaurant & Bar at 1137 University Blvd.  just before 2 a.m. by someone reporting that shots were being fired.

“Upon arrival, officers were told that a fight broke out in the street involving approximately 10 people,” Blankley said. “One of the people involved fired multiple shots in the air during the altercation.”

Witnesses told officers that the suspect got into an Oldsmobile Delta ‘88 and drove away before police arrived.

Officers, who reached the area within two minutes of being summoned, Blankley said, located and stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Wallace Wade Avenue and Bryant Drive.

Blankley said Taylor, who was driving the vehicle, was arrested on the carrying a pistol without a license charge at that time.

Additional charges are pending.
